Single Stick Fencing

Single Stick Fencing uses wooden sticks with guards instead of steel swords, and was popular as a sport in the British Commonwealth and the US from the late 18th century through the early 20th century.

Men, women, and kids of all ages compete for medals in Single Stick at the Wisconsin Highland Games. Saturday is adults and Sunday is kids.

It's not only competition — you're invited to get some free instruction in single stick fencing at the Wisconsin Highland Games. There's no advance registration needed; just show up and the instructors will show you how it's done, even if you're a complete beginner. Seminars are held before each tournament, with adults on Saturday and kids on Sunday!
